Visit Oxford has established a new safety policy for this year’s Double Decker Arts Festival. 

On April 11, Visit Oxford announced a new clear bag policy for the evening hours of the festival on both Friday and Saturday. 

This year’s festival is on April 25-26.

Attendees are “encouraged” to use clear bags when entering the North Lamar main stage area after 5 p.m.

“This measure is designed to create a safer and more enjoyable environment for everyone,” the announcement reads.

The announcement did not say how the policy will be enforced or how strictly it will be enforced or whether there are any exceptions, such as diaper bags or bags from vendors or stores from the Square.
