An Oxford man was arrested for allegedly stealing from a business.

On Feb. 5, investigators with the Oxford Police Department took a report from a local business owner in the 1400 block of University Avenue, concerning an employee being suspected of stealing from the business.

The owner said they noticed several items missing, worth more than $5,000.

The employee was identified as Kerry Pettis, 43, of Oxford.

Pettis was arrested and charged with one count of embezzlement.
