Cadence Bank recently donated $50,000 to the Pregnancy Center of Oxford.
This gift enables the nonprofit to continue providing a range of free services for women and families in need.
According to Peggy Thomas, director of the Pregnancy Center, the center had about 1,600 appointments, many of which included providing pregnancy tests and ultrasounds. There were more than 600 visits to the center’s clothes closet and nearly 1,400 attendees participated in classes–all at no cost.
“The gift from Cadence will help us continue to serve our community in these ways and expand our engagement with fathers and increase awareness of our services on the Ole Miss Campus,” Thomas said.
Cadence gave a total of $1.1 million in February to 16 qualifying Mississippi nonprofit organizations whose focus areas are food insecurity, transitional housing or pregnancy resources.
“Cadence Bank is passionate about creating positive change in the communities it serves. By making relationships and investments in local organizations like the Pregnancy Center, we’re giving organizations the support they need to remain focused on their missions,” Leister said.
