Addiction therapist being held on a $1M bond

A Lafayette County man arrested Thursday and charged with murder was given a $1M bond by a Justice Court judge on Saturday.
Charles Garry Reifers, 76, of Lafayette County, was arrested after deputies arrived at a house on the 100 block of Heights Drive late Thursday night for a domestic disturbance call.
Deputies discovered Charlene Cook, 58, a transgender woman and Reifer’s stepchild, dead at the scene.
Reifers was taken into custody without incident and charged with first-degree murder.
Reifers is a retired addiction recovery therapist and was the Oxford Treatment Center’s founding program director.
