Regents defeats St. Andrew’s 16-4 in lacrosse match

Regents had six players score two or more goals each as the Lions defeated St. Andrew’s 16-4 in a lacrosse match at The Farm on Saturday.
Will Coker, Ben Fuller, and Hugh Trost scored three goals apiece. Wright Thompson, Tristan Raper, and Ethan Lewis each scored two. Landon Hendrickson also netted a goal.
Coker got Regents on the board in the first quarter with a goal at the 7:59 mark, followed by a Thompson goal with 3:10 remaining in the opening frame. Raper added his two goals in the final minute of the quarter to make it 4-0 Regents.
Fuller scored his first goal at 10:53 of the second quarter, which was soon followed by Coker’s second goal, before scoring his second goal to make it 7-0 at halftime.
Fuller added another goal in the opening minute  of the third quarter to make it 8-0 Regents before St. Andrew’s scored two goals to narrow the lead to 8-2. Coker scored to make it 9-2 before Hugh Trost closed out the quarter with a hat trick to make it 12-2 Regents after three quarters.
After a St. Andrew’s goal, Ethan Lewis got one past the Saints goalkeeper to make it 13-3 Regents before Thompson added his second goal a minute later. Another St. Andrew’s score was quickly followed by Hendrickson’s goal to make it 15-4. Lewis added a second goal in the last minute for the 16-4 final score.
The teams will meet in a rematch on Saturday, March 29 at Ridgeland.
