Christine Laah Blackburn, 71, passed away Saturday evening, February 08, 2025, surrounded by her brother and many friends at her home in Richardson, Texas.

The memorial service celebrating her life was held on Saturday, March 01, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at First Christian Church of Plano. In addition to the memorial service that was held in Plano, Texas, Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford will host a visitation on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M.

Christine attended the University of Mississippi and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. She also received her Master’s degree in Education from the University of Mississippi. Christine began her career as a teacher in Louisiana but soon moved to the Dallas area, where she remained for the rest of her life. She taught school for over 40 years, with time spent at Beaver Elementary School before transferring to Christa McAuliffe Elementary School. She enjoyed “putzying around” at various retailers, going out to one of her favorite breakfast haunts, and visiting with lifelong friends.

Christine leaves behind one brother, James Michael Blackburn of Oxford, Mississippi.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. J.R. Blackburn, and her mother, Maxine L. Blackburn.

In place of traditional flowers, the family has requested that donations be given to First Christian Church of Plano.
