The Intersocietal Accreditation Commission awarded Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi a three-year accreditation for adult transthoracic echocardiography, highlighting the hospital’s dedication to excellence in patient care and its commitment to maintaining the highest standards in echocardiography.
Echocardiography, an ultrasound of the heart, is used to assess the function of the heart and diagnose heart conditions. An accurate echocardiographic diagnosis depends on multiple factors, including the sonographer’s expertise, the quality of the equipment and adherence to rigorous quality assessment standards.
IAC accreditation serves as a seal of approval, signifying consistent quality care and the advancement of appropriate use, standardization and the quality of diagnostic imaging, interventional and therapeutic procedures.
“To receive this reaccreditation is a testament to the Baptist North Mississippi team’s dedication to excellence in patient care,” said Brian Welton, chief executive officer and administrator at Baptist North Mississippi. “We continuously strive to provide the highest quality heart services for North Mississippi residents.”
Baptist North Mississippi’s echocardiography program has been accredited since 2021.
To achieve IAC reaccreditation, the hospital underwent an intensive application and review process to ensure compliance with established standards. A panel of medical experts thoroughly evaluated the facility’s operational and technical components, including representative case studies and final reports.
