Lafayette baseball defeats Water Valley

Lafayette High scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally from a 6-4 deficit and defeat Water Valley 10-6 at W.V. Brewer Field on Friday evening.
Lafayette’s Levi Hamm led the Commodores with two hits and three RBI while scoring two runs. Tanner Harris went 1-for-4 with two RBI and Lawson Fortner was 2-for-4 with an RBI. The Commodores were helped by six Water Valley errors.
Water Valley’s six runs, all of which were unearned, came on only two hits as the Commodores made four errors during the game. Isaiah Webb hit a single and Tyler Richardson doubled for the Blue Devils.
Carter Ewing, who threw two innings in relief, was the winning pitcher.
Lafayette plays Lake Cormorant on Saturday in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
