Angela Brown headlines free Black History Month concert

Two-time Grammy Award-winning opera star Angela Brown will perform at the Gertrude Ford Center for the Performing Arts next week.

The concert is the University of Mississippi’s music department’s annual Black History Concert.

“If Love Fails, Try Nothing Else,” concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 25 at the Ford Center.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Joining Brown will be Amanda Johnston, collaborative pianist, the Ole Miss African Drum and Dance Ensemble and University of Mississippi Concert Singers.

“I’d love to see as many of you as I can at Ole Miss,” Brown said in an Instagram video she recorded about the upcoming concert.

The concert is part of a week-long residency program, during which Brown will be holding master classes and other events for students.
