Rain expected Wednesday; Cold front coming in Saturday

Lafayette County could see some heavy rain and a thunderstorm or two Wednesday.

The spring-like temperatures are expected to remain through the rest of the week; however, winter will be making a comeback this weekend.

Rain showers are expected to roll in early Wednesday morning with a chance of showers and thunderstorms.

There is a marginal threat that some of the storms from noon until 9 p.m. could produce high winds and heavy rain.

The high temperature Wednesday through Friday is expected to be around the mid-70s with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s.

Rain should taper off Wednesday night but is expected to return Thursday night.

A slight chance of rain, 20%, is forecast for Friday night.

Saturday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 78; however, a cold front is expected to arrive Saturday night with a chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight.

The high on Sunday is 58 degrees with a low Sunday night around 36 degrees. There is a 50% chance of rain on Sunday and into Sunday night.

The high for Monday is forecast to be around 49 degrees.
