M & N Excavators secures roundabout project at mTrade Park

The city of Oxford took a step toward improving traffic flow at mTrade Park by awarding the bid for a new roundabout project to an Oxford business on Tuesday during the Oxford Board of Aldermen meeting.

Bids were officially opened on Jan. 16 at City Hall. M & N Excavators of Oxford was the lowest bidder with a proposal of $312,145.

The engineer’s estimate for the project was $377,120, meaning the accepted bid came in more than $64,000 under budget.

The project includes the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection between the soccer field complex and Quad “A” in mTrade Park, immediately west of McAlexander Drive.

Two other companies submitted bids for the project: Bluff City Construction at $349,846 and J.M. Duncan at $511,182.
