OXFORD – Judith Ann (Judy) Colvin Ousley, 79, the love of my life and my best friend, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2025, in Oxford, Mississippi. Judy was born to the late Betty Ann and R. C. Colvin on June 27, 1945, in Greenwood, Mississippi. After graduating from Greenwood High School in 1963, Judy became everybody’s favorite at Ole Miss. She graduated with a Business Education degree never to be used except for practice teaching in Canton. She later earned a degree in Interior Design from the New York School of Interior Design in 1982. She opened a little shop, The Inside Story, with her partner in Madison, Mississippi. Judy helped many couples decorate their homes over the following 30 years. However, her greatest joy was to raise two wonderful and loving children. Judy’s love, laughter, and her smiling face touched the lives of everyone she met. She never met a stranger and couldn’t utter a crossword to anyone but me. Judy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard N. (Dicky) Ousley of Oxford, Mississippi; her daughter Britton Ousley Owen (Bryan) of Jackson, Mississippi; her son Corbin Colvin Ousley (Brenda) of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; her four grandchildren: Annie Owen Reid (Cooper) of Madison, Mississippi; Mary Ousley Owen of Nashville, Tennessee; Dalton Richard Ousley of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; Grace Virginia Ousley of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; and her sister, Joan Colvin Nored of Greenwood, Mississippi. A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. on January 10, 2025, at Coleman Funeral Home in Oxford with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation of kindness to those in need of a friend or a donation to the charity of your choice.
