Hwy. 6 wreck claims life

An Oxford man was killed Sunday, Jan. 5, in a crash on Hwy. 6 in Lafayette County, according to the
Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to an accident call at 7:51 a.m., reports said. A 2022 Peterbilt driven by 41-year-old
Chad M. Holcomb of New Albany was traveling west on Hwy. 6 when it collided with a Chevrolet
Silverado driven by 61-year-old John B. Briscoe of Oxford, traveling west.

Briscoe received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene. The crash is still
under investigation by the MHP.
