Mrs. Nina Goolsby, the long-serving editor of The Oxford Eagle, wore many hats. She worked to save landmarks and helped preserve the town’s history. 

She served in various clubs and was Citizen of the Year several times. And, she played Santa.

Nina rode atop the big sleigh in the Christmas parade throwing candy to us kids, and she walked the Square spreading Christmas joy. 

“Alan was with his dad on the Square in Oxford when they met Santa (Nina Goolsby). When they walked away, he said, ‘And I always thought Santa was a man.'” -Marvelyn Greer
