County approves new fees for commercial fire inspections

The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors approved new countywide fire inspection fees for commercial buildings.
The county has not previously charged fees for inspection.
The Board approved the new fee structure unanimously during its regular meeting Monday morning at the Lafayette County Chancery Building.
The fees must be paid for new construction, alterations or renovations to the property.
Fees approved on Monday were:
- Final fire inspection $50
- Hood suppression system $100
- Fire alarm system $100
- Sprinkler system $100
- Elevator inspection $100
- Plan review $200
