Taylor man charged after reported shooting

A Taylor resident was arrested recently for shooting at another person.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, at about 1 p.m. on Dec. 6, a call came into dispatch from someone claiming that they were the victim of a shooting.

The alleged victim was not injured.

Deputies arrived at a home in Taylor and were advised the suspect fled the scene.

The suspect was identified as Eddie Jerome Tyson Jr., 24, of Taylor. He allegedly lived at the residence before being evicted earlier this year.

Tyson reportedly shot at the victim three times, striking the victim’s vehicle one time. Investigators found three spent shell casings and one live round.

Tyson was later arrested that evening at his home in Taylor. He was charged with domestic violence-aggravated assault and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center on a $75,000 bond.
