Man charged with statutory rape

On Nov. 11, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit received a report regarding an inappropriate relationship between a juvenile and an adult.
Subsequently, Gavin Trent Hill, 19, from Tallahatchie County, was arrested and charged with statutory rape.
Hill appeared before a Justice Court Judge on Monday and received a $25,000 bond.
Due to the incident involving a juvenile, the sheriff’s department will not provide any further information.
