Local man arrested after Cash App thefts

In September, deputies with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office responded to a theft complaint on CR 145.

A male victim said he believed a relative had been stealing from him.

Investigators determined that Jeffery Wilkins, 42, of Oxford had been making multiple fraudulent Cash App transactions from the victim’s bank account to his Cash App account.

Wilkins was charged with felony false pretense over $500 as well as exploitation of a vulnerable adult. He was arrested and transported to LCDC without incident. His bond was set at $25,000.
