On Nov. 6, an officer with the Oxford Police Department responded to an apartment complex following a report of fraudulent activity involving the use of a false identification to obtain goods.

An officer spoke with the leasing officer, who reported receiving an invoice for charges that had never been authorized or made by the apartment complex. The leasing officer explained that the charges appeared to have been made by someone claiming to be an employee of the complex.

The officer determined that the suspect, Kiree Wilson, 33, of Oxford, who allegedly claimed to be a representative of the apartment complex, had fraudulently ordered products and instructed the business to charge it to the complex’s account.

Wilson voluntarily turned himself in at OPD on Nov. 13 and was charged with false identification and fraudulently obtaining goods.

Wilson’s bond will be set by a Municipal Court Judge.
