Oxford Middle School recently received a special gift thanks to local Boy Scout Timothy “Zek” Crocker.
Crocker, 17, is a senior at Oxford High School and a dedicated member of Boy Scout Troop 146.
For his Eagle Scout project, Crocker constructed a series of planter boxes, which he presented to the school on Nov. 2. The project, intended to enhance the school’s learning environment, is now a part of the science department, where teacher Diana Wells has already begun using them for planting.
“I wanted to give back to a school that had such a big impact on my life,” Crocker said.
Crocker, who is the son of Robert and Jennifer LeBlanc of Oxford and Timothy Crocker of Coffeeville, began his scouting journey as a Tiger Cub when he was in kindergarten in 2011.
His planters were made possible by the support of local businesses, including Elliott Lumber, Sherwin Williams, Shaw Ace Hardware and the Trophy Shop Oxford.
In addition to reaching the rank of Eagle Scout, Crocker has recently been named the 2025 Lodge Chief of the Ofi’ Tohbi Lodge, the local chapter of the Order of the Arrow, the honor society of the Boy Scouts of America.
