Update: Mr. Norhlet has been found and was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-North MS to be checked out, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.

A Silver Alert is active for a missing Lafayette County man.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Farry Norphlet, 80, was last seen around midnight on Thursday around the 400 block of County Road 303.

He is a black man, wearing a yellow shirt and blue and gray plaid pajama pants.

Norphlet suffers from a medical condition that could impair his judgment.

The Silver Alert System, similar to the Amber Alert System for children, is designed to help spread the message about a missing person, 18 years or older, with dementia or other cognitive impairment, in hopes of locating the person as quickly as possible.
