Most Lafayette County races headed for runoff election

All but one of the local races in Lafayette County are headed to the runoff election on Nov. 26.
In the Justice Court Judge race, Deanna McLarty, who earned 20.7 percent of the votes, will face Ley Falkner, who earned 21.09 percent of the vote.
In the Election Commissioner race for District 1 was the only race that was decided tonight with Faye Phillips taking 53.51 of the votes.
In the Election Commissioner face for District 5 Debbie Black with 32.71% of the votes and Tiffany Babb with 37.52% are headed to the runoff.
In the Lafayette County School Board 3 race, Shane Russell, 46.12%, and Judith Thompson, 42.67% will go into the runoff.
The affidavit votes are still being counted. Folks who had to vote affidavit due to a lack of ID have five business days to present their ID.
