Halloween events and fall festivals continue this week as Halloween draws closer.
The second Witches Ride will take place at 6:30 p.m. tonight on the Square. Only adults can ride in the parade but children of all ages are welcome to watch and try to catch some candy.
On Tuesday, join the fun at the Oxford Activity Center where a Fall Festival will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
While not particularly Halloween-themed, the Oxford Shriners Club is holding a Fall Carnival, starting Thursday and running through Sunday at the Lafayette County Multipurpose Arena off the F.D. “Buddy” East Parkway. Hours are 4 to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday; noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. There is a $5 charge for parking that will benefit local agricultural program. There will be games, rides, food and more.
The Magnolia Montessori School will hold its annual Historical Halloween Carnival at the school from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and the annual Yocona Community Center will hold its Fall Festival from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday.
On Sunday, there will be several Trunk or Treating events – from 2 to 5 p.m. at the National Guard Armory (Oxford Conference Center) hosted by the local Boy Scouts; from 3 to 5 p.m. at Oxford University Methodist Church and from 4 to 6 p.m. at the YMCA. Community Church of Oxford is holding its Fall Festival from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lafayette High School.
