A portion of the proceeds from an upcoming estate sale, hosted by Invitation Oxford and Clements & Company, will benefit the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council’s mission to foster creativity and support the local arts community.

The sale will feature a wide range of art and unique collectibles, providing an opportunity for the public to purchase rare pieces while contributing to a meaningful cause.

Wayne Andrews, director of the YAC, emphasized the innovative ways community members are finding to support nonprofits.

“We are fortunate that community members think creatively about how to donate to nonprofits,” Andrews said. “Donating assets like art is a powerful way to support a charity. If you have owned art for more than a year, you may be able to eliminate capital gains taxes, claim a current-year income tax deduction (if you itemize), and even reduce estate tax liability. Beyond the tax advantages, partnering with a charity helps connect items with an audience that appreciates their value.”

The growing trend of donating art, stocks and access to vacation homes is becoming a popular way to support causes beyond traditional cash donations. This estate sale marks the third time YAC has benefited from such a partnership with Clements & Company, which specializes in maximizing outcomes for clients by collaborating with local charities.

“Our goal is to achieve the best results for our clients, and we’ve found that working with a charity helps find an audience that has a genuine interest in the unique items being offered,” Clifton Clements Odom of Clements & Company said. “At the same time, it lets those purchasing these pieces know that they’re contributing to the community as well.”

The estate sale will take place this weekend — from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at 3635 Lyle’s Drive with a variety of rare and beautiful items available to collectors and the general public.
