William Faulkner is not the only family member to write his name in the history books. He had three younger brothers and all of them left their mark.
The second son, Jack, was a decorated WWI veteran who got his Ole Miss law degree and soon became an FBI agent at the request of J. Edgar Hoover. Then fate found him on a hot July 1934 night outside the Biograph Theater in Chicago, waiting for John Dillinger to emerge.
When he did, Falkner and the other agents there opened fire, killing the notorious gangster. Faulkner would go on to serve with distinction in North Africa in WWII.
He, along with all three of his brothers, is buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
