Big changes are on the horizon for Oxford University Bank and the Bank of Pontotoc as they officially transition to Guaranty Bank. The acquisition, announced last year, will be finalized on Monday.
As part of the merger, OUB branches will close at their usual times today to begin the transition process. All OUB branches will remain closed throughout the weekend to complete the transition to Guaranty Bank’s system.
The merger will create a financial powerhouse with about $2.6 billion in assets and a network of 39 branches stretching across Mississippi and Tennessee.
Guaranty Bank has been a trusted name in the banking world since its founding in 1943. As a locally owned institution, it offers a wide range of financial services to communities across Mississippi and Tennessee.
Meanwhile, Oxford University Bank, a much younger establishment founded in 2000, has served the Oxford area through branches on University Avenue and Jackson Avenue. With this merger, customers can look forward to expanded services and a more extensive network while still enjoying the community-first approach both banks are known for.
