Commodores fall to Falcons on the road

The Lafayette Commodores dropped a hard-fought 20-14 game on the road to the Columbus Falcons on Friday night.
Lafayette moved to 0-4 after the game.
The Commodores got on the scoreboard first on a five-yard touchdown run by Darius Brown to go up 7-0 over Columbus in the first quarter.
At the end of the first quarter Lafayette led Columbus 7-0.
Columbus was driving deep into the Commodores territory to the six-yard line as the quarter ended. Columbus tied the game at 7-7 the third play of the quarter.
Late in the second quarter, Lafayette had a 60-yard touchdown run by Brown taken off the board by an offensive penalty.
At the half, the score was tied 7-7 between the Commodores and Falcons.
At the end of the third quarter, Columbus scored a touchdown to take a 14-7 advantage over Lafayette into the fourth quarter.
Lafayette tied the game up at 14-14 as Brown got into the end zone from 60 yards out.
Columbus answered with a touchdown of their own to go up 20-14 as the extra point was missed.
Lafayette returns home next week to play host to Memphis Central High School. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
