The Second Gentleman came to Lafayette County last week, but who knew? The event was billed as a Harris victory fund hosted by Brandon Presley.

What was known is the event was going to happen on Friday the 13th but that is all. Time and location was given upon receipt of the RSVP and the check clearing.

A person had to be in the know to go. Inner circle only. What was discussed, who was there who knows.

No doubt frank discourse and after election promises were made. Politics as usual.

Speculation is all we have to go on because the champions of the poor and disadvantaged hid their display of wealth and influence from the poor and disadvantaged. No reporters, no public at large just the wealthy and the select. Secrecy and armed guards were the order of the day.

Heavily tinted large cars zoomed from and to the airport in Tupelo. No reason to be suspicious, nothing to see here – just political sausage making the run of the mill voter couldn’t understand anyway.

We think we know the cost, according to the invitation I viewed. (After the fact.)

Champion level required a $10,000 donation with a photo with the Second Gentleman. Sold out.
Advocate level was $5,000. Photo too. Sold out.
Supporter level $3,300 came with preferred seating. Sold out.
Friend level only $1,000 no photo no preferred seating. Sold out.
Guest level $500 of which a limited quantity of these were available. Sold out.

The average (and we all are) voter has no reason to feel sold out. The local, state and national elites have your best interests at heart. Really.
