On Sept. 4, the Oxford Police Department was contacted by the Southaven Police Department for a reported case of child abuse.

After investigation, Briane Kreston, 31, of Oxford, was arrested and charged with Child Deprivation of Necessaries with Substantial Harm.

Kreston was taken before a Municipal Court judge for her initial bond hearing.
