UM fraternity placed on interim suspension for alleged hazing

The University of Mississippi has placed the Mississippi Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on interim suspension after videos of a hazing incident began circulating on social media.
The fraternity has not yet been named by the university that released the following statement Wednesday:
“The University is aware of the videos and takes allegations of hazing seriously. The university has placed the involved fraternity on interim suspension, which includes pausing new member activities. This should not impact the activities of other organizations on campus.”
This suspension includes a pause on all pledging activities.
The fraternity joins the Lambda Pi chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi and Pi Kappa Alpha which were suspended in 2021 for hazing incidents.
