OPD arrests 13 for DUI during first home game weekend

The first Ole Miss Rebels home football game weekend brought lots of folks to Oxford.
“We had a very good weekend,” said OPD Chief Jeff McCutchen. “We saw good crowds. We were able to get traffic in and out quickly. We made several DUI arrests on Friday night, but overall it was a safe weekend.”
According to information provided by OPD, from Friday through Monday, officers responded to 34 wrecks and made 13 arrests for driving under the influence.
There were six arrests for public drunkenness and one arrest for harassing a public service animal.
Officers responded to 55 reports that included 10 suspicious activities and three disturbing the peace complaints.
