Two people were seriously injured Monday after a wreck on Highway 7.
At about 5 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, and other first responders responded to a crash on Highway 7 just past the Southpoint subdivision.
The highway was shut down to allow for medical helicopters to land.
A 2009 Kia Rio driven by James Wadley, 51, of Bruce, was traveling north on Highway 7 when it collided with the rear of a 2023 Nissan Rouge driven by Makyah Lamberth, 25, of Abbeville, traveling north on Highway 7.
Wadley and Lamberth received severe injuries from the crash and were transported to a local hospital.
This crash remains under investigation by MHP.
