An Overdose Awareness Day will be held this weekend aimed at spreading awareness and remembering those who have been affected.
The event will be held from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Old Armory Pavilion.
A collaboration between the Oxford Police Department, the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland Heights Substance Abuce Treatment Centers, and the LOU Mental Health Alliance, it will be a time of sharing resources, stories, fellowship and refreshments.
The event is about remembering those affected by the opioid epidemic, recognizing that it can impact anyone, and renewing hope as National Recovery Month approaches in September.
