During the 2023-2024 school year, 289 Oxford High School students participated in AP exams, with 512 exams completed overall.
From those tests, 82% of the AP students scored a 3 or higher — the highest on record since 2012 at OHS. About 100 students earned the title of AP Scholar, marking the highest number in the past decade for the school.
The average scores on 19 out of 21 exams surpassed both state and global averages.
“I am very proud of our teachers and students. We have opened the doors of access to our AP classes, increasing the number of students who are participating,” said Oxford High School Principal Dr. Dana Bullard. “Usually, when that occurs, the percentage of students who score at a 3 or above decreases for a year or two. Oxford High School increased both the number of students who participated in AP classes and the percentage of students who scored 3 and above on the exams. Again, this is a result of great teaching and increased student interest. I am very proud.”
Additionally, several teachers achieved an outstanding 100% passage rate on AP test scores for their students, including the following: Chemistry with Ms. Rosen; European History with Ms. Wiltcher; Music Theory with Mr. Ardrey; and Spanish with Mr. Jimenez.
