The Oxford Park Commission is starting an afterschool program for the upcoming school year that begins in Oxford and Lafayette County on Aug. 1.
The new month-long pilot program, dubbed Overtime at the OPC, will begin Aug. 5 and has spots for 40 area children.
The program will continue throughout the school year if enough children are registered.
The cost is $40 per child, per week. Parents can register their children for one or more weeks in August.
The program will be held at the Stone Center and will only be available for fourth and fifth graders attending Central Elementary School so they can walk to the program.
The staff will provide various recreational activities such as kickball, board games, arts and crafts, pickleball and more.
