Amma Elizabeth “Bess” Cofield, 53, died Thursday, July 24, after a 26-year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis. Bess fought the good fight but in the end, was ready to go to the Lord. Born and raised in Oxford, she was a graduate of the University of Central Florida.
A graveside service will be held at the Oxford Cemetery on Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 AM.
Bess is survived by her brother, John B. Cofield of Oxford, nephews James H. Cofield, Scott W. Cofield, and Andrew G. Cofield, all of Memphis. A beloved and devoted sister-in-law Natalie F. Cofield of Memphis. An aunt, Martha L. Stephens, and her only two first cousins, Jack D. Stephens and James Z. Stephens, all of North Carolina. A half-sister Kathryn R. Barnwell of Jacksonville, Florida.
Bess was preceded in death by her parents Martha Glenn and John R. Cofield, Jr., her brother, Glenn W. Cofield, and her life partner Mark A. Dingeldein.
