The juxtaposition of new condo construction on 16th Street with William Faulkner’s adjacent grave site in Oxford Memorial Cemetery (aka St. Peter’s Cemetery) creates a visual representation of the past-present tussle found in various Faulkner’s works and the subject of his most famous quote.
