This is tax free weekend for back-to-school items

Mississippi’s Sales Tax Holiday is happening this weekend.
The holiday started at midnight today and will run through midnight on Sunday.
The tax holiday is earlier this year after the Mississippi Legislators passed a bill last session to bump up the weekend since so many Mississippi schools are opening earlier.
Oxford and Lafayette County schools begin on Aug. 1.
The Sales Tax Weekend gives consumers a break on taxes on clothing, school supplies and other miscellaneous items needed throughout the school year.
The back-to-school sales tax holiday includes articles of clothing, footwear or school supplies if the sales price of a single item is less than $100.
