Several former Oxford School District students, from recent graduates to those who walked the halls of Oxford schools many years ago, are serving as first responders within the Oxford and Lafayette County communities.
In the Lafayette County Fire Department are Hal Anderson, Ottis Anderson, Taylor Anderson, Chief Wes Anderson, Cpt./EMT John Michael Hill, Lt./EMT Carter Hillmer, Division Chief Buster Hollowell and Deputy Fire Chief Justin Sneed.
In the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office are Deputies Michael Bevill and William Vaughn.
In the Oxford Fire Department are Lt. Charles Barranco, Capt./EMT Rochelle Harwood, firefighter Aliya Herod and Lt. Jason Keller.
In the Oxford Police Department are Brianna Blake, Jake Gibbs, Mac Hickinbottom, Roderick Holmes, Mike McGee, Lt. Alex Moffett and Keddrick Redmond.
“The core values of Oxford School District — excellence, equity, service, support, and relationships — are values that we instill in all of our students,” said Superintendent Bradley Roberson. “We take pride in knowing that our alumni continue to uphold these values they learned in school to positively impact the world around them, no matter their profession.”
