Leadership Lafayette recently announced its partnership with The Pregnancy Center of Oxford to establish a memorial garden dedicated to families who have lost a child.

This project aims to provide a tranquil space for reflection and healing, offering solace to those who have experienced such a profound loss.

The memorial garden will serve as a tribute and a place of comfort, fostering a sense of community and support.

To bring this vision to life, the Leadership Lafayette team is seeking donations and community support to raise $6,000 by July 20. These funds will be used to cover the costs of materials and labor necessary to create the garden.

“We believe this memorial garden will be a vital resource for families navigating the difficult journey of grief,” said Becki Ferguson, a representative of the Leadership Lafayette team overseeing this project. “It is our hope that the LOU community will come together to support this project.”

Donations can be made by contacting one of the Leadership Lafayette team members.

“Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to our goal and helps ensure the creation of a space that will benefit grieving families for years to come,” Ferguson said.

Leadership Lafayette, a program by the Oxford-Lafayette County Chamber of Commerce, develops active community leaders through in-depth training sessions, learning about local assets, community needs, and strategic leadership skills. Participants also work on team projects to address a current community problem, leaving a lasting impact on the LOU community.

The Pregnancy Center of Oxford provides compassionate care and support for individuals and families facing pregnancy-related challenges, offering resources and services to help them navigate their journeys.
