After 14 years of service at the Oxford Housing Authority, Teasha Sanders will soon be at the organization’s helm as executive director.
The promotion was announced at the Oxford Board of Aldermen meeting Tuesday by OHA board member Stephen Bramlett.
Current executive director Jonathan Hill will be retiring at the end of June after serving as executive director since 2018.
“We are turning a page,” Bramlett told the board Tuesday. “Teasha has a profound understanding of the mission of the Housing Authority. She consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty … She’s a walking encyclopedia of all HUD regulations.”
Sanders will take the reins of the OHSs and the MS Regional Housing Authority II on July 1.
The OHA oversees four housing developments in Oxford – C.B. Webb, Laurel Grove, Willow Knoll and Wayne Johnson. The MRHA oversees the voucher program.
Sanders has worked for the OHA for 14 years and is currently the deputy director.
“This is not merely a job for me, but a profound responsibility that I’m fully committed to fulfilling with dedication and diligence,” Sanders said at the meeting. “My dedicated staff and I are committed to ensuring the continued success of both programs. Thank you for putting your trust in me.”
