Egg Bowl moves to Black Friday

The Battle for the Golden Egg against Mississippi State moves to Black Friday this upcoming football season.
Set for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC on Nov. 29, this is the first Friday night contest against the Bulldogs since 2008, one of just five all-time against Mississippi State alongside games in 1916, 1921, 2007 and 2008.
Kickoff times and TV assignments for the Egg Bowl and a handful of other 2024 Ole Miss football games were announced on Thursday by the Southeastern Conference and related television networks.
Ole Miss will kick off the season at home on Aug. 31 against Furman, with the game set for 6 p.m. and streamed online across both ESPN+ and SECN+. This marks the first all-time meeting between the Rebels and the Paladins.
Ole Miss remains at home the following week, hosting Middle Tennessee on Sept. 7 at Vaught-Hemingway. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m. on SEC Network, and it will be just the second meeting all-time between the Rebels and Blue Raiders alongside a 45-17 Homecoming victory on Oct. 20, 2001.
The Rebels hit the road for the first time the following week on Sept. 14, traveling to Wake Forest for the first time since 2008. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. on The CW.
