Lafayette defeats West Point 8-0 on Friday

The Lafayette Commodores defeated West Point 8-0 on Friday night.
Lafayette (18-6) takes an early lead in the first over West Point on a double off the bat of Brody Breithaupt to left field that scores a run.
The Commodores starter Tanner Harris made quick work of West Point through the first three frames, only allowing a one-out single in the first.
In the third, Lafayette got a home run to left field off the bat of Houston Morgan to make the score 2-0 Commodores.
Lafayette broke the game open in the fifth as they scored three runs with three doubles in the inning by Morgan, Breithaupt and Jack East.
In the sixth, Lafayette added three runs on a home run by Foster Crockett, Breithaupt and a double by Morgan.
Morgan finished the game going 3-for-4 with a home run and two doubles scoring three runs with an RBI.
Breithaupt went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles with two runs and five RBIs.
Harris pitched a complete game against West Point with no runs allowed on three hits with five strikeouts.
Lafayette will return to action on Monday as they take on West Point to finish the series. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.
