Oxford Chargers softball falls to DeSoto

The Oxford Chargers softball team falls to the DeSoto Central Jaguars 12-0 on Tuesday night at home.
DeSoto Central got four runs in the top of the first and added three runs in the third inning.
The Jaguars didn’t allow Oxford to score a run in the game. The Chargers did get three hits in the game off the bats of Paisley Walls who went 1-for-2 and Madi Jones who went 2-for-2 at the plate.
DeSoto Central scored five more runs in the fifth to call the game after five innings.
Oxford had MC King and Walls in the circle to face DeSoto Central. Walls worked 3.1 innings allowing 11 runs on four hits with two walks and two strikeouts. King came in for the final 1.1 and surrendered a run on two hits with a walk and a strikeout.
Oxford returns to action on Thursday as they travel up I-55 to take on the Hernando Tigers. The first pitch is set for 6 p.m.
