Absentee voting open

A runoff for the 2nd Congressional District’s Republican nominee will be held Tuesday, April 2, after ballots were counted from the March 12 primary.

Ron Eller and Andrew Scott Smith appear on the ballot for the runoff on election day. The winner of next Tuesday’s vote will face the Democratic Party’s nominee, incumbent Rep. Bennie Thompson.

In-person absentee voting is currently underway at circuit clerks’ offices, with a deadline of Saturday, March 30, at noon.

Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before election day, April 2, and received by circuit clerks’ offices by Tuesday, April 9.
