Spring storm knocks down a few trees, floods some roads

Lafayette County received about 2 inches of rain Monday night when storms rolled through the area.
The high winds, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph, knocked down four trees in the county.
According to spokesperson Beau Moore, there were no reports of damage from the fallen trees.
The rain caused flooding on several county roads, including CR 105 and Highway 314. Downtown
Abbeville also saw some local street flooding, according to residents.
North East Mississippi Electric Power Association reported 885 weather-related power outages during the storms that were mostly restored by Tuesday morning.
Most outages were due to trees on the lines from the gusty winds.
The city of Oxford reported no downed trees, flooding or outages during the storms.
