Lafayette Commodores defeat the Center Hill Mustangs 12-9

The Lafayette Commodores defeated the Center Hill Mustangs 12-9 on Saturday.
Center Hill took an early 1-0 lead over the Commodores in the first inning. The Commodores tied the game in the bottom of the first.
The Mustangs scored seven more runs in the first two innings with Lafayette adding another run, making it 8-2.
Lafayette came back with eight runs after the fifth inning, with two runs in the fourth and six more in the fifth.
Center Hill added their final run in the top of the sixth as Lafayette added two more runs.
The Commodores were led by Connor Counts who went 2-for-3 with a home run, one run scored and three RBIs.
Lafayette’s Foster Crockett went 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs.
The Commodores Jake Melton worked an inning where he allowed five runs on two hits with three walks and a strikeout. Lafayette turned to Jack Wyatt East who worked two innings and surrendered three runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts.
Lafayette’s Nick Kagey picked up the win. who tossed 3.2 innings and allowed a run on three hits with a strikeout.
Lafayette takes on Pontotoc on Tuesday at home. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
