Oxford softball falls to Myrtle

The Oxford Chargers softball team fell to the Myrtle Hawks 9-3 on Monday.
Myrtle jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the second inning.
Oxford (5-6) tied the game in the top of the third with three runs of their own.
The Chargers got RBIs from Lindsey Gillis and MC King. Gillis finished the game going 1-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
Oxford’s Addy Shorter had a double in the game.
Myrtle scored two runs in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings.
In the circle for Oxford, Paisley Walls worked 6.0 complete innings and surrendered nine runs (four earned) on nine hits with seven walks and six strikeouts.
Oxford returns to action on Thursday as they travel up to Southaven. The first pitch is set for 5 p.m.
