Commodores baseball wins game against Munford Cougars

The Lafayette Commodores baseball team defeated the Munford Cougars 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Munford took an early 1-0 advantage over the Commodores in the first. The Cougar’s lone run on the day.
Lafayette (10-5) quickly responded with a run of their own in the first that tied the game at 1-1.
The Commodores had senior Jack Wyatt East on the mound against the Cougars. East didn’t allow Munford to score another run the rest of the game.
Lafayette went ahead with the winning run in the fourth.
East pitched seven innings and allowed one run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts to pick up the win.
The Commodores got RBIs from Tanner Harris and Houston Morgan.
Lafayette was led at the plate by Brody Breithaupt, who went 2-for-3 with a run.
Lafayette returns to action on Tuesday as they take on Clarksdale on the road. The first pitch is set for 7 p.m.
