Oxford’s three main grocery stores are open today and are working to get perishable items back on the almost empty shelves.
However, some are closing earlier than usual.
Larson’s Cash Saver in Oxford and Water Valley will both be open until 3 p.m. today.
According to management, the Oxford store is expecting perishable department loads arriving with dairy and frozen products including milk and meat.
“We will have fresh bread and are already well stocked with eggs,” Cash Saver announced on Facebook Friday morning.
The store will not be serving lunch as the kitchen staff has not been able to get to the store due to road conditions in the early morning hours.
“We realize that you need groceries and supplies, even though the weather is not perfect. We’ve been serving you for almost 71 years, through thick and thin,” Cash Saver posted.
Kroger will be open through 8 p.m. today. The pharmacy will be closing at 4 p.m. The fuel center is closed.
According to management, the store received eggs, meat and produce Thursday night.
“However, due to extremely limited staffing it is very slow going in getting the shelves stocked,” the store announced.
Kroger is out of milk but announced they do expect a delivery sometime today.
The Oxford Walmart is open today and the store has not yet announced a closing time. The store closed at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The Walmart Pharmacy will close at 4 p.m. Calls to the store were not answered for additional information.
On Saturday, Walmart Pharmacy will be hosting its 2024 Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Friday morning, a pharmacy employee confirmed the event would be happening.
Customers can receive free health screenings for things like glucose, cholesterol, body mass index and blood pressure as well as affordable immunizations for flu, COVID-19, HPV, mumps, measles and more.
Select stores will also feature vision screenings, in-store giveaways and demos of wellness products.
